Blake and other celebrities (among others Dianna Agron, Kristin Chenoweth etc.) signed an elephant to raise money and awareness for the alzheimer’s association. You can visit the main site of the project here and you can bid for the signed Blake Lively elephant right here!
The Elephant Project is an organization to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. The elephant is the symbol of the project because there is a phrase that says, “elephants never forget,” and in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, we are striving for those afflicted with it to “never forget.”
To raise money, and awareness, we have celebrities pose for a picture with an elephant beanie baby, which are then auctioned off in an Elephant Project auction package! Each package consists of an 8×10 photo of a celebrity posing with the elephant, a signed Elephant Project card by that celebrity, and a special elephant beanie baby! Some of the celebrities that have participated include Gerard Butler, Lady Gaga, Zac Efron, Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Ashley Tisdale and tons of others!
Uniqlo has partnered with 10 famous faces to design for a special T-shirt campaign called Save Japan! to help raise money for the Red Cross. The T-shirts will feature messages of encouragement from artists around the world, and Uniqlo hopes to be able to donate around $1.2 million from the sales to recovery efforts. Famous faces that have designed tees include Lady Gaga, who has previously designed a bracelet for the relief efforts, Blake Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman and more. Get your own tee for $19.90 in Uniqlo stores on June 25.
The officialCHANEL site of the handbag campaign ad with Blake has some new pictures of the photoshooting, which I added to the Gallery. Blake looks STUNNING!
Blake Lively may not want to launch her own clothing line, but she’s still the face of the world’s most famous one. On Monday, WWD published the first of Lively’s ads for Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line; today, we have the remaining two images and four exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from her shoot with Karl Lagerfeld himself.
We already knew they were besties, but the candid image of the two sharing a moment in Lagerfeld’s studio is enough to make even our cold, shriveled, quilted leather-coveting hearts believe that Chanel bags are exactly what dreams are made of.
Following all those will-she-won’t-she attend the Chanel show rumours, Blake Lively landed in Paris over the weekend to unveil her first designer campaign for Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line. At a dinner hosted by Karl Lagerfeld, the Gossip Girl starlet caught up with WWD to talk all manner of things, including why she isn’t interested in launching a fashion project of her own.
“I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?” she asks. “I want to bow down to them and be a representative for them if they’ll have me”.
And have her they did. According to Blake, she was surprised the results of her photo session with Karl didn’t include images of her “with my jaw on the floor.”
The ads, which were captured by the Chanel creative director in Paris’ historic Rue Cambon, are due to break in the next fortnight, and will continue through until June.
